mercredi et jeudi

Bonjour!

So, in review, Monday-I went to the Champs again. Tuesday-Linnea and I went to Notre Dame. Let me continue with the rest of this week's update.

Mercredi

Wednesday, Linnea and I met up at the Metro again and headed to the Galleries Lafeyette. It is a HUGE department store and in nice area with lots of shops and boutiques. The department store itself had 7 floors! The basement level was just SHOES! I was in heaven! It also had a great accessory/makeup floor with a Tiffany's counter, MAC, Yves Rocher, and many other designer brands. The clothing floors were so incredible. All of the deisgners had their own little sections. Everything was so nice that I didnt even want to touch anything. Prada, Gucci, Dolce & Gabbana, etc. Here are some pictures!

The seventh floor had an open deck area that had a great view of the city.

After window shopping, Linnea and hunted for a lil' bistro to go to for lunch. We found a great local place right across from the beautiful Paris Opera House. I really want to go in at some point. It is now a museum and Linnea said it's really cool inside too. So I will keep you all updated!

Jeudi

Thursday, Linnea and I headed to St Michel. It is another cool shopping area. But, this time it was more affordable and I felt more comfortable than I did at Lafayette. The picture above is of the fountain at the center of the St. Michel area. Gorgeous! We browsed around and bought my new favorite indulgence-nutella crepe with banana slices for a snack and just walked around a lot. Close to the area was a huge garden called the Luxembourg Jardins. At the center of the garden is a huge castle. It was the home of the Duchess' of France at one point. I didn't get a picture of it for some reason, but Linnea and I will go back again, Im sure. We sat and talked on a park bench for awhile and I loved just people watching. Everyone is so relaxed here. It feels as if no one has obligations here. Everyone in the garden was just lounging around, reading a book, having a picnic and just generally enjoying the sunshine. I love the difference from the fast-paced life in the States! I think we can all learn a lesson here. STOP AND SMELL THE ROSES mes amis! Au revoir for now!

  1. That is something I've learned from living abroad. Americans work TOO much! Everyone else takes a break. Spends time with family, and goes on holiday. Life is for living, not working!
